Meet our Big Buddy teacher, Anthony Sharp. His 7th and 8th grade students worked on their technology/engineering curriculum project: THE UNPLUGGED ARCADE!The k-6 Kennedy students attended last Friday. Our class collected over 600 tickets from playing the games. We thank all the kids and Mr. Sharp for making this project a successful event for all!
Students visited their adopted small plants from the Fall. Many discovered that their plant was "gone" while others observed a very different view of their plant disguised as a "stick" or missing their leaves.
After, we went into our "medium plant" groups and compared our last photos of these plants. Representatives from each group shared out what changes they viewed.
After designing her house on Friday, Genevieve came to school on Monday with an additional few things to add.
"I want to add a pool to my pig house." Her enthusiasm and creativity had others thinking of things to add to their houses as well.
Aristotelis shared that he knows a lot about glue guns. His dad and him have used one at their house. "When the glue is clear it is hot and when it is white it is cool."
It is a wonderful thing for students to share what they learn from home in school and vice versa. Being able to make "connections" is a wonderful part of learning for children.
Our voting chart has had more and more student made stories to share at group time.
